Performer name(s): Cardinal Copier (GHOST Impersonator) Characters performed: Cardinal Copier, Papa Emeritus III, Papa Nihil
Where do you live and perform: I live in Stafford, Staffordshire, United Kingdom
Gender (in muggle world): Genderfluid
Muggle day job: Customer Service Representative
Length of time performing: I’ve been performing on and off for 15 years, but only really as a ‘male impersonator’ for the last 9 or 10. In Staffordshire, which is sort of this nice, pleasant conservative, Countryside it’s not easy to get drag gigs and if there are, they’ve never really heard of kings. So I’ve been mostly doing skits at home for instagram and tiktok and where possible, getting on the stage at comic cons.
What you refer to yourself performance wise: I consider myself a male impersonator, but I do refer to myself as a drag performer.
Why do you perform? The thrill of entertaining, the thrill of playing off of an audience, honing my craft, the adrenaline.
How would you describe your performance style: Sensual Slapstick Satanism. Lots of comedy, interspersed with Ghost Songs.
What /who inspires you: I am heavily inspired by Tobias Forge and the characters Papa Emeritus III and Cardinal Copia. The Characters, being Pseudo Satanic clergy are very theatrical and a lot of fun to embody as the hedonism makes for a lot of entertainment for both myself as a performer, and for the audience. Almost like someone getting permission to be their most outrageous self. Isn’t that what drag is really about?
From a drag perspective, Adam All helped me develop a make-up design I was comfortable with and helped me understand male contouring. I really enjoy watching their tutorials on youtube, and seeing them go from Jen to Adam was mesmerising.
Some information about your costumes: The costumes are mostly custom made from Etsy sellers and Vestement stockists. Mostly modified from traditional Catholic Vestments and modelled on the Cardinal’s own wardrobe. There’s a lot of tightness involved and sometimes, flamboyant, glorious black cotton with diamante detailing, leather with silver buttons and hand stitched regalia.
Your favourite act (of your own or someone else’s): I really do love Adam All’s ‘We don’t have to take our clothes off’.
Biggest challenge as a performer: Overcoming my own body image issues. Projecting confidence through someone else entirely. Literally.
I am fat, and whilst I love the idea of embracing the body, no matter what, there are people out there that won’t let you love yourself, the way you are. I decided to take the comedy, and twist it on its head. Make the comedy part of my act, and make it enticing.
Some of your achievements: I have lectured on characterisation and costume. Reached 666 followers on Instagram (A hell of a number), met the Cardinal himself in cosplay and got his seal of approval. Performed on several stages across the UK at conventions. Gathered a following of fans and friends from different walks of lifes, in different countries, and learned from them as well as teaching others what I have learned.

Whilst I cosplay an existing stage persona, consider if a tribute act… With some cheeky comedy on the side.
